1/3/2012:
This week we'll begin reviewing all of the math content we've been working on this year in preparation for next week's State Math Test. Students should continue to work on IXL
all week, setting their own goals based on this week's focal skills.
In writing we will be continuing our expository unit with a persuasive paper next. This will be an engaging project as we will be debating whether schools should have school
uniforms or not. After the in class debate, we will use the ideas that come from that discussion and writing their own personal stance on the subject in a persuasive essay.
Our journey in science arrives at the Rock Cycle for the next week. We'll be discussing all about the different types of rocks and how to classify them. We'll also spend time
talking and experimenting on how the Earth is always changing, and these changes turn rocks from one form into another.
Over the next weeks, room 16 will be working on their Early America Total 10 projects.
They need to pick any of the listed projects that add up to 10 points total. Extra credit is available for those who go above the 10 points, but don't spread your ideas too thin,
I am more interested in quality not quantity. We will have time in class to work on these projects, but students need to get started early.
